parler femme is a dance-based triple bill celebrating innovative and inspiring stories about women, experienced through live performance, screen and immersive technologies.

Act I: The Subject is Speaking

A compilation of award-winning short dance films telling the stories of different lived experiences from female filmmakers, including, Tala Lee-Turton Production Chinese Laundry about an intergenerational British Chinese experience.

Act II: Here Lies

The premiere of a multi-layered dance and music duet; a magic realist tale about two estranged sisters, reconnecting after the death of their Grandmother.

Act III: No Time Like The Present

An audience favourite with a cast of five dancers performing to a synth-pop score, exploring power and femininity.

Each performance includes a spoken word prologue developed with a local community group or school and an aftershow Q and A session for the audience.

Creative Team:

parler femme is produced by Tala Lee-Turton Productions, bringing together diverse collaborators from new talent in film and dance, and presenting dance across multiple disciplines.  The production features official selections at international film festivals, returning ACE funded work and the premiere of Here Lies, developed as part of a Genesis funded, residency at Yorkshire Dance in September 2022.
