The research and development piece gave audiences the opportunity to experience a first draft of future production, No Time Like The Present; a female-led, outdoor, one act ballet, created by a diverse team. The work explores female empowerment, notions of feminity and ways in which women see themselves and each other.
The creative team aimed to subvert a traditional ballet conventions in terms of inclusion, setting, costume and music. The full production will premiere at Wentworth Woodhouse in Rotherham and Sheffield Botanical Gardens in Summer 2022.
Research and development premiered on 2nd and 3rd September 2021 at Wentworth Woodhouse.
