HERE LIES

Here Lies is an intersectional feminist interpretation of myth, told through immersive music and dance, about two estranged sisters who reconnect whilst paying respects to their grandmother in the local cemetery. They reflect on the things they have left unsaid and why they felt they could not say them.

The meeting enables them to inhabit an alternate realm, outside logical time and space, in which their voices are heard and in which they feel safe. In this world, they can manipulate oppressive and suppressive forces upon womanhood as they experience it. Together, they will a new world into being, one that does not bury its women in the dust of tradition.
